If hardy mountain living fits your appetite this area is for you.  Located along the Sierra Crest just off highway 80, and in close proximity to Sacramento, there is a ton of wilderness surrounding this area that provides opportunity for quiet solitude while getting back to nature. You won't find many amenities here, but you will be close to world class Nordic Skiiing, Sugarbowl Ski resort, the Yuba and American River, not to mention countless miles of hiking and biking trails.
